The plight of humanity seems to be that we are all destined to suffer in this life to some degree. The nature and degree of our individual suffering will obviously vary. But suffer we all will. The question, the challenge is not whether we can eliminate or reduce suffering but whether we can learn to utilize it as essential grist for the mill. Life involves suffering, and life is also the classroom for our continuous learning. Our suffering is an integral part of the curriculum and our success as students of life rests on our willingness and capacity for learning from it. -- Bruce Gill, organizational leadership expert
